Investigation 52 - Chapter 3"You still haven't told me what the fuck you've done to me!" Daniel screamed at Matt.
"What I've done! I've not- Look! We have to get out of here quickly!" Matt replied, picking himself off the ground "You can teleport us to the hideout, right?"
"Please tell me you can teleport us out of here."
"I don't know how."
"WHAT! What do you mean you don't know how! You got out of that building just fine!"
"I don't know how I even did that! One second I'm in my office, the next I'm standing here!"
Matt paced around the car, rubbing his head after he had been hit. "Great, we'll have to take the car."
"WHAT! There's no way I can drive that! We'll be spotted! Besides, I know that ILEA can keep track of agent's cars when the car battery is on. You don't think they'll be doing that now when I'm wanted for god-knows-what crimes I've suppose to have committed."
"Listen to me Daniel, we can ditch the car when we're near the hideout. Crash it, burn it, blown it up. Anything. But right now, you
Ruby Red - Chapter 4Daniel then grabbed Chris' face, pulling his eyelids open before letting go of him. He then nodded at Kassi who pulled out a marker pen. Walking over to the middle of the floor, she made a giant circle, filling it in with strange symbols whilst chanting in latin.
"In pectus pectoris nos fides, everto vadum non tentatio" she said before she pulled out a strand of her hair, placing it in the middle. As soon as the hair hit the floor, the circle started to glow, lighting up the rest of the symbols with it. As soon as the glow stopped, the drawing faded away.
"What did you do?" asked Chris, confused as to what just happened.
"Demons can't attack here anymore or at least the ones we can stop by Purity Seals" Daniel replied.
"Nothing you need to know about" he replied again as he packed his box back under his arm. Daniel and Kassi then left the room, closing the door behind them. Kassi then turned to Daniel, stopping in front of him.
"Well, does he have it?" she asked.
Ruby Red - Chapter 3"Wha- wha- what?!?!" stuttered Chris, his eyes welling up "What do you mean?!?!"
"I was tasked with killing that thing that attacked you but I was careless, thought it was a push over. I didn't think it would kill anyone. Type ones are usually just angry, not homicidal-" he replied before Chris punched him, hitting his head against the wall"
"You bastard! Because of you, my family is gone! Because of you, I nearly killed myself! Because. Of. You, I have wasted a year of my life in a mental house, thinking I was insane!" he shouted, swinging his fist at Daniel again. Daniel caught the fist, putting him in an arm lock.
"Okay, one free hit is all you're getting!" he replied, gripping Chris tightly "I'm sorry for what happened but I'm not going to stand by and let you kill me. There are other families who are depending on me not fucking up. I learnt my lesson when I had to apologise to the other Hunter"
"Apologise! I lost my family!"
"I had to keep this title. If I didn't have access to th
Ruby Red - Chapter 2A year had passed since the fateful day. Chris had been sent to a mental health recovery centre since the nightmare creature attacked. He had been lucky he hadn't been sent to prison as no evidence could be found to suggest he murdered his parents. Chris' life looked like it had ended. He had missed his exams at college so he had no qualifications to get him into a good job. As it all seemed hopeless, a glimmer of hope shone down on him.
Realising his potential before his parent's murder, the doctors set him up on a special learning course at a nearby university which would allow him in as long as he passed an entry exam with ninety percent marks. He passed with one hundred. Chris wasn't average; he was extremely smart, his knowledge surpassing most of his age and those ten years ahead of him.
As he entered on his first day, Chris felt confident knowing that he could do anything. He wasn't afraid anymore, believing that the attack was caused by the shock of seeing his parents murdered.
Ruby Red - Chapter 1Chris was returning home from college, his bus had been ten minutes late so he was really worried what his parents might have been thinking. He had texted them but there had been no reply.
"They're definitely angry" he thought "They never believe me, even when I'm telling the truth"
He had forgot to tell them he was staying back an extra hour for revision, meaning that they weren't just angry, they were furious. As the bus neared a stop, the engine started to smoke. The driver then pulled the bus over, opening the doors for everyone to get off.
"We're really sorry, the next bus won't be here for another half an hour" he said, explaining the situation to the passengers.
"Great, now I'm really late" Chris thought.
Carrying on down the road, it took him another ten minutes to reach his house. Worrying as he got in, he called out to his parents.
"I'm really sorry, the bus broke down so I had to walk-" he started to say as he walked into the living room. Before his eyes, he saw his parents,
PokeFAIL - Chapter 8Awaking in the hotel room, Daniel looked around. Passed out rockers lay on the beds and floor, empty bottles of strong vodkas lay around them. Looking forward, Daniel saw the sun slowly rising in the distance outside the window. Quietly getting up, he went to the bathroom, taking a quick shower and brushing his teeth before the others woke. Or so he thought. As he re-entered the room, sliding his t-shirt over his head as he did, he saw Shaun rummaging through the band's wallets.
"Shaun! What the hell are you doing!?!?" he said in a hushed tone, being careful not to wake the others.
"I'm "borrowing" some money, what do you think it looks like" he replied, tutting as he did so.
"Well make sure you take small amounts. The last thing I need is for the police to arrest you after those guys realise they're missing loads of cash"
"Don't you mean "we" need?"
"Nope, if you get arrested then I'll have to find another partner I seriously doubt there is anybody else who is as weird as you out ther
Investigation 52 - Chapter 2After receiving the mysterious phone call, Daniel felt uneasy. How someone was able to block their information from one of the world's best computer systems was worrying. If someone could do that, then imagining what else that person could do was opening every other possibility Daniel could think of. And the last words that were said rang through his head.
"We'll be seeing you soon"
The more he thought about it, the more worrying it was. "We'll" meant that it was more than one person who was doing this, and whoever was doing this knew who he was and where he lived and worked.
"Could it have been an elaborate hoax or joke?" He thought too himself "No, this is way too planned out to be a prank"
The more he thought about it, the more he confirmed to himself this was serious.
As he pulled up to the car park across the street, Daniel exited his car, locked the door and looked at the building. This was the main police headquarters in Trinity City. The last two levels of the fifty store
Investigation 52 - Chapter 1Daniel turned around to his wife, Shannon, kissing her softly on the lips.
"It's okay, I think I just had a bad dream, that's all" he replied, smiling softly.
"Oh good" she said back "I'm going to make some coffee, would you like some?"
"You know I don't like coffee" he laughed back
"Oh yeah" she giggled "Can you tell I've only just woken up?"
As Shannon stretched her arms, she got out of the couple's bed and entered in to the apartment's kitchen area to make herself the coffee she had mentioned. As she did, Daniel reached into his pocket and pulled out his ILEA system to check the time.
He had to be in work for half past seven. He got off the bed and walked to the bathroom to use the toilet. As he unzipped his fly, Daniel looked up and realised this wasn't his bathroom. It was instead the men's toilets in the ILEA offices. As he tumbled over in shock, he heard a voice calling out.
"Is somebody in here?"
It was the janitor from the late night shift. Panicking, Daniel didn't k
Another Day - Epilogue
Four months had passed since it had all ended. Summer had drawn to a close and autumn started to turn the leaves golden browns and dark reds. Daniel and Shannon had been buried next one of the last trees that hadn't been destroyed by the blast. As they stood over the graves, Luna, Kassi and Matt placed a single apple on the graves.
"Can you believe it's been four months?" asked Luna as she smiled softly.
"I can" replied Kassi, stroking her stomach, her bump clearly visible now.
"Four months... it feels longer" said Matt, slightly frowning as he did.
"It's been too long since we last saw them anyway" replied Luna, walking over to the graves.
"We've missed you. We wish you were both still here, along with all the others. We buried Noah in the garden of the large house but not before we buried you two here. We're really sorry we haven't visited more often but we've been travelling. We finally found a small settlement. There are about twenty others and they've been really nice to us. But n
