Ruby Red - Chapter 16"You can't be saying that this... boy is a character from Greek Mythology" Kassi said in disbelief.
"Kassi, you know as well as I do that a Deman is not natural. All sorts of powers and conditions can be place upon the individual. The very fact he hasn't aged a day since he became one is a strong sign of that" Daniel said "You have to understand Kassi, there is a reason why he shouldn't be here"
"And why is that"
"Because of the danger he's going to attract"
"Over two and a half thousand years ago, there was a man named Daedalus. After being locked in the tower in Crete for over ten years, he had been driven insane. His thoughts had become inhuman, thoughts filled with madness. Combined with the evil that already rested in his heart, he became a monster in a man's body.
"He decided he had to escape and spread his madness with the rest of the world, to make them understand the true nature of things. His scriptures in the tower talked about human and demons mixing together to make
Ruby Red - Chapter 15A scene presented itself to the four. A scene called Chaos.
Throwing the whip around one of the Sirens, Daniel was busy already fighting off the horde. As he caught her by around her ankle, he made the weapon glow, making it twist upwards around her neck. As he pulled the weapon, he tore both the leg and head clean off the body. Jumping over him, Chris started to slice through the Demons, the cuts going through the creatures like a hot knife through butter.
Kassi and Matt were slaughtering creatures with ease also, the combined forces of Purifiers and Demon magic proving to be a force to be reckoned with. As the Demon gathered together, Matt launched a ring on spears out of the ground. The Siren's dodged, jumping inside the circles left.
"Missed!" one of them called out as they attempted to climb out.
"Trapped is more like it" said Kassi as a blizzard was conjured in the air above them, forming an ice boulder. As the wind stopped, the boulder dropped, crushing the Sirens trapped inside
Ruby Red - Chapter 14As Kassi walked into down the street, she couldn't stop thinking about Matt, whether he was safe, if he was going to be okay during the night ahead. These feelings didn't make sense to her though. She didn't normally think about people like this before, she would worry about their safety but not as much as she felt for Matthew.
"Maybe it's because of what happened before" she asked herself silently "No... this is different... What is this feeling?"
As she walked down the street, a voice in her head called her name...
Turning around, she saw nobody calling her. The hustle and bustle on the street continued around her, people walking past her, nobody in the crowd trying to attract her attention. The words continued to call to her, getting louder as she faced towards the north. Her attention was then attracted to the cathedral that faced in that direction as she heard eerie giggles as a blonde haired girl ran inside. Heading towards the building, she started to wonder
Ruby Red - Chapter 13As the crystals the pair of Hunters were encased in shattered, Daniel turned to Chris, hitting the shards away from his face as they arrived in Etholia. Daniel looked upon Chris with serious eyes, something that Chris recognised from the day that Daniel had saved him from the Demon in his house.
"Chris, do you know what you just faced back there?" he asked.
"The Leviathans?" Chris replied puzzled.
"No, I mean that "man" who opened up a portal to the Other Side"
"No, what was he and how was he able to do that?"
"I think he was a Human/Demon Hybrid, or a Deman for short, hence why he was able to use Demon techniques. But being able to command Leviathans... something seemed off about that, like he'd trained them or even... made them fear him"
"A Leviathan? Fearing something as small as him?" Chris said, laughing at the thought until he stopped as he saw Daniel standing angrily, the seriousness of the subject almost flowing out of his body "How could he be dangerous?"
"A Deman is not born
Ruby Red - Chapter 12"Chris" said Daniel as he faced into the moving water, staring at his shimmering reflection as the Leviathans charged towards the pair.
"What is Danny?" Chris asked as he stood his ground in an aggressive position.
"Let's make this a contest" he replied, smiling widely "The one who kills the most of these things has to buy the winner any drink of their choice"
"Fine but you know I'll get champagne"
"That's too bad because I'm more of a vodka person myself!" shouted Daniel as he charged head on into one of the giant sea creatures as he pulled out another revolver from beneath his cape "I only use this one on special occasions"
"I feel honoured" the withered man replied sarcastically.
As Daniel charged at beast, it whipped its tail in fit of rage. Daniel judged the timing right, jumping onto the creature's body as he ran up, firing numerous rounds from both revolvers into its body, reloading every time he ran out of bullets. At the same time, Chris was dodging the numerous swipes of a si
Ruby Red - Chapter 11Meanwhile in the park, Daniel and Chris were relaxing on the grass hill that faced the lake which the group had fought a Demon on once before at the beginning of the year. With it now being the early summer, many families and young couples had gathered to relax. It had been a strange few months for the group, hardly any Demons that had attacked were extremely powerful, mainly Type 4's and below. Though this wasn't worrying, it would've left the group at a disadvantage when it came to more powerful Demons if they hadn't have been sparring on a regular basis. The two Hunters were conversing as they idly passed the time away.
"I wonder where Kassi went today" Daniel commented as he lay on the hill with his shirt unbuttoned, soaking in the sun "I went by her room this morning but neither she nor her roommates were in"
"Wasn't the girl only a couple of doors down from her?" Chris asked.
"Yeah. Her name was Helen. Nice girl, well liked by people. Shame to hear about her" Daniel said, not rea
Ruby Red - Chapter 10What she had just heard was incomprehensible. A Demon who didn't know what it was. The very subject made Kassi uneasy. As she examined him, she looked deep into his eyes, now a deep shade of crimson, noticing the confusion that flowed out of them yet no bloodlust as many other Demons had presented.
"Who are you?" Kassi asked, lowering her weapon when she realised that he showed no murderous intent.
"You're more likely to know than me" he replied in a calm voice "Though I suspect you are as clueless as me on the subject"
"You speak in a very polite manner" Kassi complimented, a slight smile on her face as she realised how civil she was being to a creature that she would have gunned down without a second thought if the circumstances had been different "Are you sure you know nothing of yourself?"
"Not a thing..." he replied, frowning as he did "Except one thing"
"What would that be?"
"The burning glow of the sun"
"That is all?"
"Why would that be important to me?"
"I don't know..." Kassi
Ruby Red - Chapter 9It was a quiet, sunny day around the university campus. It was unusual for it to be this quiet but the Headmaster had given the day off in remembrance of a student who had passed away during the night. The student was a young girl who was only a few doors down from Kassi's room. As she and some of the other students watched the girl being removed from the room on a stretcher, Kassi walked over to one of the paramedics.
"What happened to her?" Kassi asked, curious to find out how the girl died.
"We're not sure but we think she might have had a heart attack" said the man as she backed down the corridor.
"Oh that's awful" said a girl nearby.
As the paramedics placed the girl into the ambulance, a girl tapped Kassi's shoulder.
"Hey, we were going to go to that café in town by the river, you know, to commemorate Helen. It was her favourite place to hang out. We were wondering if you want to come with us" the girl said.
"Ummm... sure" Kassi replied, accepting the invitation "I never got
A Week Of KissesA Week Of Kisses
The first day I told you I loved you,
I imagined kissing your shoulder,
Well before I thought about your lips.
Because I don’t know what I am doing, firstly,
But more importantly,
It’s because I know things can spiral quickly,
If things start shifting
After we lay down the concrete.
So I kiss the foundation,
Before we reach the soil.
The second day I told you I loved you,
I imagined kissing your elbow,
Because it holds together the touch
And the flex.
To exhibit it,
I must kiss the joint that bends
And combines us together.
The third day I told you I loved you,
I lay my lips to your temples,
As I learned about the temple of reform,
For the Youth in North America.
Kissing you there signifying I will protect you,
As well as your temple,
As we re-form, into something more.
The fourth day I told you I loved you,
I’d kiss you softly on your forehead.
Because that’s what holds your brillian
